Supporting the Chaplain’s Program

For the entirety of its first century of service, Intermountain has remained true to its founder’s call when establishing the agency:

“Under God, brethren, we cannot continue to allow the suffering of children to go unchallenged.”

Today, Intermountain utilizes a robust Chaplain’s program to help nurture and cultivate children’s faith. Through weekly fellowship, small group study, individual mentoring, and many fun activities, Intermountain places great emphasis on allowing children to learn of God’s unconditional and sacrificial love for them while remaining sensitive to each child’s individual faith background.

Currently, Intermountain’s Chaplain’s program conducts its many activities wherever it can find space… the gymnasium, picnic shelter, or outside. However, one of the hallmarks of a successful Chaplain’s program is having a consistent, inviting environment for children to comfortably learn about God’s unconditional love. In order to provide the best spiritual and cultural nurture for the children in residential care, we are remodeling one of our older cottages to become “Van Orsdel Commons”–a place for chapel services, one-on-one mentoring, relaxation, rest and sanctuary for children and staff.
